Start with your postcode. We look your home up on the public energy certificate register, so there is nothing for you to measure.
Why this is not the usual online calculator
It uses your house, not an average one
Most tools ask how many bedrooms you have and look the answer up in a table. This one reads the measurements an assessor took at your property: the floor area of each storey, the height of the rooms, the length of wall that loses heat, the loft insulation and the size of every window.
It designs to the right temperature
Heat loss depends on how cold it gets where you live. We use the Met Office design temperature for your nearest reference station and correct it for how high your home sits, which is what the standards require.
It tells you what it assumed
Where the certificate did not record something, we say so on your result rather than quietly filling the gap. You can see exactly which parts are measured and which are standard figures.
The survey is still the answer
This is a desktop estimate, and Mark will not design a system from it. It is here so you know roughly where you stand before anyone visits, and so the survey starts from something real.
